Why 60% of Americans Suffer from Chronic Disease and Steps to Avoid it | Why Going on "Autopilot" in America means Getting Chronic Disease

Do you have one of America’s three chronic diseases, or know a close family member who does?

I do. And that’s why I got passionate about this subject. I’ve watched too many family members get sick over the years and just take pills to manage it.

I had questions like…Am I next? Why did they get sick so young in the first place…and Is taking pills the only answer?

I’m sad to report that chronic diseases affect 60% of Americans now. (cdc.gov)

That’s right, 6 out of every 10 people in the US suffers from heart disease, diabetes, or cancer. In fact, cardiovascular disease tops the list as the #1 killer in women and men in the US.

That’s crazy isn’t it?!

What are the main causes of these diseases?

The CDC lists these four as the top factors:

1. Tobacco Use

2. Poor Nutrition

3. Lack of Physical Activity

4. Excessive Alcohol Use

If we go on auto-pilot in America, we are likely to succumb to one of these chronic illnesses.  I’ve seen it happen in my own family.

What we don’t know is killing us. So, what is it?

I’ll get to that in a second.

Mainstream media is NOT interested in educating us on what’s best for our bodies. They  would much rather make money selling you the pills for your disease. Just watch a few commercials on TV!

So, you need to seek out nutrition advice yourself.

It’s not enough to just follow the government’s recommendation for myplate (a poor educational tool). It’s taking our health into our own health and researching what’s best for us.

After years of research reading articles, books, and listening to doctors, I have found what could be causing these diseases based on our diet.

It’s a lack of vegetables in our diet.

I’m not saying you need to go vegetarian or vegan. But, I can probably say you are not eating enough vegetables- leafy greens and beans especially.

Yes, potatoes, tomatoes, and corn are fruits and vegetables. These are the most eaten vegetables in the US. But, we can do better! If you’re here, you want to do better.

So, what’s the answer to preventing or even curing these chronic diseases like heart disease and diabetes?

Studies show that the only diet proven to reverse heart disease is a whole food, plant-based diet, often referred to as a vegan diet. (1, Journal of Geriatric Cardiology, 2017)

What would happen if you just learned how to cook a few more vegetables?

With a little education, we don’t have to live in fear. We can take our health into our own hands.

The big secret to reclaiming your good health is COOKING MORE VEGETABLES.

The body has an INCREDIBLE ability to heal itself and feeding it the right food will help it heal itself.

If you learned to just cook a little more vegetables, you could start managing or preventing disease on your own. Some may even be able to reverse disease.

If you’re like most people, you know you should be eating healthier and eating more vegetables, but you don’t know how.

That’s okay. Most of us never learned how to cook healthy in Home EC and the media is NOT concerned in teaching us what’s healthy. They just want to sell us the new super-processed 100-calorie pack.

You don’t have to give up everything and become vegan to gain substantial health benefits. You just need to learn how to increase your intake of fruits and vegetables.

If you’re committed to living your best life and want to learn how to cook more vegetables, then you’re off to a great start.

There are tons of resources out there. But, if you want more support, I’m glad you’re here.

I want to share with you some of my best vegan recipes and meal prep techniques with you.

I’ve cooked for celebrities and athletes and want to share those hot celebrity diets with you– because the celebrities know about this stuff! Of all the people I serve, they care about their health and appearance the most. It makes me stay on top of my game.
