What’s in the Fridge?

Welcome to my nomad kitchen! I’m a Los Angeles native who trained in France (where my hero Julia Child trained). I travel extensively using food as my excuse.

I’ve been in the food industry for over 10 years now, working in restaurants, catering, healthy personal chef-ing, and teaching cooking classes.

People say that I have a calming voice, and that I’m a good teacher in the kitchen. I don’t care how much experience I have, if I don’t get you cooking more in the kitchen (and enjoying it)- then I’m not doing my job right.

This blog is full of recipes, stories and conversations on healthy cooking to get you inspired.

The blog is 90% ish plant-based. I don’t like to label myself this or that but I try to eat as many vegetables as I can. Meat is more of a side dish.

Being half Mexican and half Armenian living in California, you’ll find the recipes I grew up with here like Steak con chiles, Chile RelleñosTabuli, Stuffed eggplant, and spinach patties, many of which I made with my grandma and dad.

When I’m not working on recipes and the blog, I teach online cooking classes and run a personal chef business in the LA area. Follow me on Instagram where I share lots of healthy gluten-free recipes @chefjoannas

Keep on cooking,

Joanna
