Apple Dutch Baby: Quick Recipes in the Quarantine

APPLE DUTCH BABY

(Serves 3-4)

Ingredients: 

  • ¾ cup (96g) all purpose flour
  • 3 eggs
  • ¾ cup milk (184ml)
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 green Apple, peeled and chopped
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Toppings of your choice .

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425 F (218 C) and prepare a large oven-proof pan with sides. Cast iron is best. .

In a medium bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt together and whisk. Then mix in the eggs, milk and vanilla. Whisk to a smooth batter. Then, add the apples. .

Meanwhile melt the butter in the pan. Once butter is melted, pour half of it into your pancake batter and mix. Preheat the pan In the oven at least 5 minutes or until butter sizzles. Then, pour pancake batter into pan. .

Place back in oven and bake 20-25 minutes, or until it puffs up and the sides are golden brown. .

Serve with maple syrup, fruit, or just lemon and sugar!
