Vegan Bananas Flambées (for one)

 
This is the perfect dessert when you just want a sweet treat but don’t want to go through the production of making a cake. Oh yea, you get to light stuff on fire too!

Enjoy this simple dessert in 10 minutes using your old bananas. Take a vacation to the Caribbean with each bite with orange, lime and coconut flavors. My favorite part: flambé, or setting it on fire. .

Vegan Bananas Flambées (for one)

Ingredients: 

  • 1 banana, sliced lengthwise
  • 2 tsp raw sugar
  • 2 t coconut oil
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 2 T rum, brandy or Grand Marnier (orange liqueur)
  • Like zest and Chopped macadamia or hazelnuts for garnish

Directions: 

In a non-stick heat proof pan, melt coconut oil and cook bananas a minute or two. Sprinkle with sugar. Then add orange juice. Broil for 2 minutes or so, basting in between. Then light the rum or Grand Marnier in fire and pour onto bananas. Baste carefully. Top with lime zest, nuts or mint. .
