In Arabic, it literally means “half-half.” Unlike a cappuccino or latte, this half-espresso, half- foamed milk is the perfect in between. Always served in a small glass.

Ingredients (Serves 1):

  • 1 shot espresso
  • ¼ cup milk (2% works best)
  1. First, get your espresso ready if it takes a few minutes.
  2. Foam your milk. If you have a milk frother, use that, but you can also use a jar with a lid on it. Fill jar with milk and shake vigorously for a minute. Then, microwave for 30 seconds. Cover and shake a little more and you will have amazing foamed milk.
  3. Spoon foamed milk into bottom of small glass until it’s filled halfway. Then, pour espresso shot directly over milk. Serve immediately.

Enjoy with msemen pancakes or dates.
